Each month we’ll explore a different topic and expand our understanding of the world around us. Join us for Bent Science at Bent Ladder Cider and Wine – an evening of science at its most intriguing! Must be 21+.
THIS MONTH:
Joyce Pelz of the the Greater Akron Audubon Society will introduce the audience to some of the common bird species that can be seen and heard in our region. She will also discuss some of the things that can be done to attract birds, including food, feeders, and appropriate landscaping.
The Greater Akron Audubon Society chapter of the National Audubon Society serves Summit County and portions of the surrounding counties. They have meetings on the 4th Tuesday of each month with programs on topics related to birds and the environment. They also participate in many citizen science endeavors such as the annual Christmas Bird Count. More information about the chapter and their activities can be found atwww.akronaudubon.org.
All guests must be 21 and over after 6:00pm Thank you!
Every Saturday in February Bent Ladder Cider & Winery is offering tours of their cider/wine making facility. Grab this chance for a look behind the scenes at the cider and wine making process capped off with a sampling. “We’ll vary the samplings from week to week depending on what’s happening with the ciders and wines at that time – you might be sampling the ciders currently on tap; tasting cider directly from the tanks or barrels; sipping a tank sample of one or two of the wines yet to be released; or even tasting freshly pressed apple juice. Tours are $5 and will begin promptly at 5:00pm and are limited to a maximum of 20 guests. All participants must be 21 years of age or older – please bring ID. RSVP (strongly encouraged) by clicking on the Tickets link or by emailing us at [email protected].”
