HOSTED BY: Raven’s Glenn Winery

“Wine Your Way Out!” is a wine tasting event in a giant corn maze featuring excellent wines from Raven’s Glenn Winery.

It all starts with a hay ride to the giant corn maze. Enter the maze and find wine stations where you’ll taste eight different wines paired with cheese & chocolate! Finish the night around a campfire, make some s’mores & enjoy a glass of your favorite wine at the cash bar.

This is a fall adventure you wouldn’t want to miss! Let the wine guide your way out of the maze!

A scenic 5.8 mile point to point fun run from Grand River Cellars to Chalet Debonne Vineyards. Upon completing the run, Chalet Debonne will be hosting a private 30 minute wine tasting starting at 6:00 PM. Participants will then receive a limo ride back to Grand River Cellars where they will enjoy a spaghetti dinner and a free glass of wine in a commemorative event themed wine glass.

If you have friends that would enjoy this event but would not enjoy running 6 miles there is an option to participate as a bike rider. Ride your bike to Chalet Debonne and then we will transport it back to Grand River Cellars afterwards so you can still enjoy the limo ride.

Participants under the age of 21 will not receive the wine but will get all other benefits. As a caution this fun run will be held on open roads and it is expected that all participants follow standard pedestrian traffic laws.

If you expect that it will take longer than 1 hour to complete this run, please use the contact us page to arrange for an earlier start time to allow for completion prior to the wine tasting.

The Oberlin Heritage Center will host an enjoyable evening pleasing to palate, ear and mind on Tuesday, July 18, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Vermilion Valley Vineyards.  The social event, which is co-sponsored by Herrick Jewelry of Oberlin, is open to the public and includes a sampling of fine wines with a taste of history on the side.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and guests will be entertained by the solo finger style and jazz guitar of musician Rich Holsworth.  A brief mini-lecture will be offered at 6:00 p.m. by OHC Executive Director Liz Schultz, who will discuss Oberlin’s historic, contentious relationship with alcohol.  Reservations are required for this special evening, with a cost of $30 per person (21 and up).  Revenue from the event supports the Pat Murphy Endowment for Heritage Preservation.  Guests are encouraged to make reservations early as the event sold out last year; visit www.oberlinheritagecenter.org to reserve your place online or call (440) 774-1700.

The soiree admission provides each guest with tickets for two wine tastings and a full glass of wine.  Complimentary punch, lemonade, and finger foods also will be available, along with a fun array of items to be raffled ($1 per ticket, or if you prefer to remain “dry” at the event, you may increase your chances of winning by using your wine tickets for the raffle).

The Oberlin Heritage Center is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and is widely recognized as a model small museum, historical society and historic preservation organization.  It offers guided tours, history walks, educational programs for all ages, children’s summer camps, and special events both at its complex of historic sites and throughout the community, often in collaboration with other organizations.  The Pat Murphy Endowment for Heritage Preservation is a fundraising effort presently underway to build a permanent source of income to address ongoing maintenance and preservation needs of the Heritage Center’s buildings, grounds, and collections.
