AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zoo will host their first ever wine tasting event on Saturday, August 26 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Six local wineries will be present and catered appetizers, to pair with wine, will be prepared by the Square Scullery. Attendees will receive a souvenir wine glass, free tastings, appetizers and a giveaway.
During the event guests can sample wine from different wineries including Barrel Run Crossing Winery and Vineyards, Filia Cellars, Maize Valley Winery, NautiVine Winery, Troutman Vineyards and Wolf Creek Winery.
In addition to the wine tastings, the zoo’s animal ambassadors will be showcasing their artistic skills with live painting demonstrations. Raffle tickets will be available to purchase for an opportunity to choose the paint colors and take home a painting. The zoo’s education department will also be selling animal art.
Tickets are $45 for Akron Zoo members and $50 for non-Akron Zoo members. Designated driver tickets are also available for $25 for Akron Zoo members and $30 for non-Akron Zoo members.
